The Center for Strategic Litigation is East Africa’s premier think-and-do tank on the rule of law that seeks to advance the vision of a just tolerant, vibrant and inclusive democracy grounded in respect for the rule of Law and justice for all. Based in Zanzibar, the Center works at the interface of advocacy and litigation deploying the law to encourage citizen agency in advancing the rule of law through strategic litigation, public education, petitioning, legal research and judicial reviews as well as strategic use of media, especially online media
Under the direction of the Finance and Administrative Manager, the Assistant Accountant is in charge of keeping track of the financial documents that are necessary to comprehend and expedite the organization’s growth potential. Along with these duties, s/he must make sure the organization complies with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, grant agreements, and other legal requirements. Additionally, s/he must stay informed about any changes to the law that may have an impact on the organization’s internal and external operations.
The Assistant Accountant will occasionally take part in carrying out CSL activities in accordance with the CSL strategy and framework of activities, just like the majority of the CSL team. The incumbent assists the CSL management in making sure that all grant and legislative requirements are met.
